Modem Driver Version

To determine what "modem driver" is used in your system (modem firmware), you have to issue a command to the modem - you can do it in any version of Windows with Hyperterminal.

Most modems use a command in the form of: ATi# to return the modem driver version, with # equal to a number - the most common numbers being 3 or 7. (ATi3 or ATi7).

An Askey program available from J-Mark, Winmdid.exe, will automatically attempt to issue an ATi3 and ATH3 command to each Com port:
